  This particular survey company had landed a contract with their major customer to undertake a large number of regular monthly surveys. This type of surveying volume was welcome in terms of business growth but also a problem from the perspective of funding.

This means that rather than our client raising an invoice, the customer provided the self-bill document to our client and then made payment in due course. However, as there would still be 30-day terms to contend with, our client opted for an invoice financing arrangement where they could select the self-bill transactions that would be funded.

  Many clients prefer selective facilities, as it allows them to only submit certain transactions for funding. This can enable a company to keep close control over the cost of their facility and only access finance when they really need it.
